Dr. Michael J. Shick, MSPM, PMP®, CSM® is a recognized leader in the field of Project Management, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Western Carolina University, a PMI® GAC-accredited institution. With a career spanning over two decades of operational leadership as a retired senior military officer, Dr. Shick specializes in translating complex predictive and adaptive (Agile) methodologies into actionable career success for professionals worldwide.

As the founder of ROSEMET, Dr. Shick leverages his extensive background in academic research—published across major repositories like Google Scholar, ResearchGate, and Academia.edu—to provide high-stakes PMP® training and CAPM® certification prep. His forthcoming book, “Get Certified. Get Hired. Get Ahead.™,” serves as a strategic roadmap for ambitious project leaders, bridging the gap between foundational PMBOK® standards and the evolving demands of AI-driven project environments.

He coordinated a multifaceted program for over two hundred wounded warriors and support volunteers, spearheaded change management initiatives, implemented Lean Six Sigma processes to reduce workflow processing time significantly, and various agile, hybrid, Information Technology, and waterfall projects.

Dr. Shick has contributed immensely to academia and knowledge-sharing. His dissertation focused on trauma-exposed employee work performance and the interplay of PTSD, organizational support, and authentic leadership. He has authored articles on artificial intelligence (AI) in organizational effectiveness, case studies, and is currently working on a book proposal discussing leveraging AI in project management. He has also delivered hundreds to thousands of briefings and has presented lectures on various topics, to include change management and supporting individuals with invisible wounds.
